U.S. Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum was in Santa Fe today, June 23rd, speaking at the Western Governors Association meeting alongside three other cabinet secretaries and several governors. The current regime is planning to sell off public lands and even National Monuments Ostensibly for "affordable housing" and other ridiculous reasons (like drilling, fracking, mining, and making the wealthy more so.
We made our voices heard on the future of our cherished public lands! Thousands showed up for the protest.
The Protest/March began at DeVargas Park in Santa Fe and proceeded to the El Dorado Hotel where the Western Governor's meeting was being held with Doug Burgum, Secretary of the Interior (DOI) as the keynote speaker. He, of course is "in charge" of Public Lands like US Forests and National Parks and Monuments as well as the Bureau of Land Management (where Hubby is employed as a Park Ranger.)
So, our Public Lands belong to the Public, Doug. Lets keep it that way.
Hey Doug, take a hike!
