Sunday Bible Study

I do find value in some of the teachings of Jesus. I read this parable again, and it is not only fitting for this situation, it is very powerful.

In reply Jesus said: "A man was going from Guatemala, fleeing a drug cartel that wanted to kill him and seize his daughters as sex slaves, when he found himself on the brink of starvation, having crossed a desert, a river, and another desert with limited supplies and no money. He went to a prosperity gospel preacher for help, but they had just had the carpets cleaned so the preacher refused him shelter. He went to the Christian governor for help, but the governor shipped him to Martha's Vineyard with no support or direction so he could own the libs. But a pinko, commie libtard saw him and took pity on him. He clothed him, and fed him, and sheltered him. He brought him to an immigration lawyer and said 'Look after him. When I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'

"Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell victim to drug cartels and gangs?"

The expert in the law replied, "The bleeding heart, pinko commie libtard who had mercy on him."

And Jesus said, "Go and do likewise."

Perfect Beach Day

20 year old in a 74 year old body

Yesterday was the quintessential perfect beach day. After a cool, windy start it became sunny, warm, breezy and heavenly. I spent time in the waves as the water temp was somewhere between the bath water of South Carolina and the ice bath of Maine.

On my beach towel I listened to Soul Flutes and the sensual sounds of Brazilian Samba and Bossa Nova and it occurred to me that “Nothing hurts”!!!

Salt water cures everything…if only temporarily.

Apologies

To those whose blogs I follow: The only internet I have most days is via cell phone and even though I am signed in to post this, Google insists that I sign in to post comments on other blogs. Then tells me that I am unable to sign in to comment. I have little patience to try and figure out a workaround.

I will just say that the ocean beckons me and life here is too short. I am aware of the Queen’s passing and check in on the political news and your blogs. We will be here for another week and then a week of visits and travel before getting back to New Mexico.

Today promises to be a perfect beach day so we are off to Herring Cove. Unfortunately my bum knee won’t take me all the way to Boys Beach. But any beach is better than no beach.

Ciao, tutti!

A Quick Update ... No Time to Waste When at the Seaside

Practically no Verizon service so little internet on cell. Just so you all know why I’m not reading or posting.

Yes, we've heard about THE Queen, but here we are enjoying a vacation in a place where the word "Queen" has a slightly different meaning...no disrespect intended.

Although we don't have our truck with us, we were able to drive it vicariously while watching this video (only a portion of which appears below)

There are only two places on the East Coast of the US where one can see the sunset over the ocean. One is Key West and this is the other: Unfortunately smoke from fire on the West Coast has been creating quite a haze here.

Full moon high tide around sunset on Friday/Saturday. The full rosy moon rose just after sunset last evening. With the almost 360 degree horizon it is always a treat to see both.

P.S. Bloggers...I haven't been commenting because I can only be "anonymous" using my iPhone...and that's unacceptable!

OK. Enough for today...we have beaches to find.

Comfort Food After a Long Desert Sojourn

Seeing green trees and real lakes again has given me a desperately needed lift. It's kind of like comfort food for the entire body.

Cypress trees in Lake Ocoee, Tennessee
