Heart Wrenching News Here in Connecticut

Prayers interspersed with outrage and deep sadness at the senseless tragedy that took place at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut on Friday, December 14, 2012.
It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the deaths of the little children and the adults who were killed and extend our sincere condolences to their families, loved ones and community.  Words cannot be found that fully express our sorrow.

It is a tragedy felt by the human family everywhere and those parents and loved ones are enduring unspeakable grief. There is so little we can do when these things happen.

Terrible. But as noted on my blog, nothing will change after this, which is just the latest in a long string of massacres over many years. Despite all the uproar that is sure to sell papers and airtime in the coming weeks, nothing will change, and these killings will go right on. That's the greater tragedy.

We just drove through again this past weekend and it's sad. I've already made some suggestions that might curtail gun ownership and make it a little bit safer. Hopefully a politician or three will take up my ideas and make them law!
