Sunday St Pete - Honeymoon Island

Barb and Mom

Good Morning St. Pete

It's only 60 degrees here, but that's probably about 40 degrees warmer than back home.

They've had some damage to the tropical vegetation from the prolonged cold snap in January.  Leon inspecting the C/O pool area.

Nice little Gay B&B with dinette, kitchenette, officiette, and two beds.

We have room here to sub-let.  Any takers?

Well, it's off to see Leon's mom and her friend.  It is a bit more interesting here than the part of South Carolina where Leon's mom now lives and where we would ordinarily be visiting.  But she is staying with an elderly friend in Pinellas Park, FL. for several weeks to help with her shopping, meals, doctor appointments, etc.  So it was an opportunity to get warm and visit mom at the same time.

Well, the sun is shining, so gotta go.

We've "All Gone to Look for America "

More Moss
Not counting DC, this state is tied for first place for highway fatalities per 100,000 population.
People drive like it's a roller derby.  The more players knocked off, the more room on the track for the rest of us.
This appeared to be part of the same accident pictured above.  The pick-up truck was on our side of the highway, southbound, in the right break-down lane.  The auto (above) was on the other side of the highway/median guard rail.  Your guess is as good as ours as to what happened to land them in those positions.
But there's good money to be made by survivors and lawyers.

I'm sure that that has something to do with the state's low priority for safe driving.
There's also lots of money in motor homes and toys like this Harley.
And a rather utilitarian, architecturally un-distinctive bridge.

We are staying in a Gay B&B for the next seven nights.  Where?
Pics tomorrow.

Where In The World (USA) Are Frank and Leon? - 2

Speaks for itself

The most over hyped tourist trap ever

No, we didn't stop there - but did many years ago.  What a trap.

Things that stick out

The state tree really should be a Pine

Highway

Two landmarks

Dead give-away

Architectural details

Leon wants to buy this place for a B&B

Even Mr. Squirrel has grand digs in this town.

And there are even a few blooms.

Had dinner at an English Pub "Three Penny Pub" or was it "Half-Penny Pub"?

Staying tonight at a Relax Inn - not as bad as we thought it would be.  But it is strange that we pay more for a bed than for a meal.
And that was lovely Savannah, Georgia.

Later Today

So, Where Are We Now?

Tonight is Days Inn - Very nice for the price, with breakfast.
And that would be in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
