Needed A Little Pride This Week

What a depressing news week it was...what am I saying, what a depressing 20 months of news it's been.

So I got the butt in gear and went to Santa Fe Pride. A small, (compared to Albuquerque's 15,000) but uplifting event to give me that old familiar invincible feeling of community, camaraderie, and pride.

I have marched, waved flags, protested at the Supreme Court, written letters, been on the evening news, done workshops, facilitated groups and written a memoir - all in the fight for visibility, coming out and attaining our civil rights.

Why do we need PRIDE events? To remind us where we've been, what we've achieved and to energize us to never go back.

Looks like a great parade! Love the sign "We'll bake that cake!" and also yay, drag kings!

Having a hard time with all this myself. So glad to see you made it to Santa Fe Pride. I've got friends in Santa Fe and was hoping to spot them in one of your photos. No luck.

Looks like everybody had a good time. A world away from the closeted days of TBITB, hooray.
