It doesn't take much to total a car.  The air bags never even deployed.  No one was hurt.   The picture is after they removed the front bumper and grill to inspect the damageto the frame...TOTALED!

My 2002 Mazda Protege.  It was good to me.

  1. OUCH! Sorry to hear that, Frank. Glad you weren't hurt. Will the insurance enable you to get a new(er) one, I hope

word verif: ferove (= take the train?)

  2. What happened? It doesn't look like a total but I'll let you in on something. When the repair cost is going to exceed replacement value they automatically total it.

Now my one and only car wreck, the car looked like an A without the horizontal cross bar. I got t-boned. Had 11 stitches in my head, that was the extent. And head wounds bleed like a son of a bitch.

And yes, I'm posting name/url because Google/Blogger's OpenID link is fubar again.

  3. Thanks for asking. Got the check from State Farm. They were generous, but haven't gone serious shopping. I will take over hubby's car and payments (he still has the Truck and the work van). So we'll have one less car and registration, less property tax, and one more chapter in our downsizing plan.

  4. Yeah, it was totaled due to repair cost. Too much hassle to keep/repair it with a Salvage Title. Even at relative slow speed, it was quite a jolt. We were fortunate.

  5. All's well that ends well, then. Downsizing is good, in this economy.

  6. Sorry to hear about your wreck, Frank. Glad no one was injured. Also, it's good to hear that you had good luck with State Farm. I have my insurance with them but have never had to file a claim.

  7. Glad to hear you are okay. What a scare!
