Applied for Lab Rescue Adoption

This photo is taken from

Well, Leon and I have put in our application for a lab rescue dog.  We're thinking it is about time.  The house is so empty without our Bruno and our walks in the woods are not nearly as fun as they might be with a furry friend.  Wish us luck in getting found by the perfect pup.

  1. Hi-
I wandered into your blog via Russ' Blue Truck Red State several weeks ago and have been intermittently following your writings on growing up, religion, etc. I had some similar experiences, although not Catholic. Religion certainly has put us all through our paces, huh!

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and wish you well on adopting a lab. We lost our kitty, Jess, a couple of years ago after getting her as a kitten 18 years earlier. We waited about 6 months and happened upon a new girl we adopted and named "Jazz". She is 180 out from what Jess was like. We don't view her as a replacement for Jess and we love her just as much. Adopting her was a good decision. IMO, our furry counterparts help keep things in perspective.
    The best to you,

  2. Thanks for the kind words, Jeepguy. We've been to your lovely state and enjoyed our time there. We too enjoy the outdoors and quiet places. Can't imagine life without frequent walks in the woods or by the sea.

  3. Hopefully the adoption goes through. Looking forward to seeing the new little guy (or girl)

  4. They don't have a pup for us yet...but we're on the list.

  5. Good luck with the adoption process, Frank. My little Rocky died 2 years ago and he sure left a big empty space here when he did. Don't know whether I'll ever get another dog, but they sure add a whole lot of love to your life.

And I am certain beyond all doubt that dogs do go to heaven. Otherwise, what would be the point of a heaven, anyway? If Rocky's not there, I'm not going.

  6. Good luck with the adoption! The puppies in the picture are so adorable.
